A passion for making pottery developed from creating art with my toddlers. The glazed finished pieces have evolved and improved as my skills and techniques have developed. The final piece is affected by many things in the process; some cannot be completely controlled in my home studio. However, it is often the uncontrollable element that adds interest and surprise to the finished piece.

Pottery is created using a wheel, slab-roller or by hand sculpting.   My functional pottery is made from stoneware clay and high fire glazes using an electric kiln.  Functional ware is food, microwave and dishwasher safe.  Some decorative pieces are made in a low fire environment using Raku technique, which is derived from 16th century Japanese potters.  Raku pieces are purely decorative and are not water tight or food safe.

Because each piece is hand made by me, multiples of a cup, for example, are similar but not identical.  If you desire more than the available quantity shown, please contact me.  I will custom make your order.
